Never Have I Ever is a coming-of-age comedy series created by Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher premiered on April 27, 2020 on the streaming platform Netflix.
On July 1, 2020, Netflix announced that the series was renewed for a second season.[1] On the series social media accounts a video was shared in which Maitreyi announced the news to the rest of the cast via Zoom.[2][3] It premiered on July 15, 2021, on Netflix.[4]
On August 19, 2021, it was announced that the series was renewed for a third season,[5] which was released on August 12, 2022.[6][7]
On March 8, 2022, Netflix announced that the series was renewed for a fourth and final season, which launched on June 8, 2023.[8][6]

Development & Filming[]
On March 20, 2019, it was announced that Netflix gave the series a ten-episode order, inspired by the life of Mindy Kaling.[9] Kaling and Lang Fisher co-created the series and also executive produce alongside Howard Klein, David Miner and Tristram Shapeero.
Filming for the series began on July 14, 2019, and concluded on October 31, 2019.[10] Season 2 production began on November 10, 2020, at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, and concluded in March 2021.[11]
Casting[]
After Mindy Kaling put out an open casting call and received over 15,000 answers, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan was cast. On November 23, 2020, Megan Suri joined the second season.[12] On December 2, 2020, it was announced that Rushi Kota was returning in a recurring role.[13] On December 9, 2020, Tyler Alvarez joined the second season was cast in a recurring role.[14] On December 18, 2020, Utkarsh Ambudkar and P.J. Byrne joined the second season in a recurring roles.[15] On April 14, 2021, Common joined the second season cast in a recurring role.[16] Chrissy Teigen had a guest voiceover role in one episode of this of Never Have I Ever. She decided to step away from the role in the wake of revelations that she once engaged in online bullying against model and reality TV personality Courtney Stodden.[17]
On January 20, 2022, Anirudh Pisharody joined the third season cast in a recurring role.[18]
