Mohan Vishwakumar was the husband of Nalini and the father of Devi. He is portrayed by Sendhil Ramamurthy.
Personality[]
Mohan was a warm, caring father with an adventurous side who owned a moped which he used to take his wife on date nights. He was a very happy-go-lucky kind of man who always saw the best in everyone and everything. He is much more laidback than Nalini but is just as caring. He loved Devi and was always teaching her life lessons and spending time with her like when they watched tennis together.
Mohan also is a fan of tennis and used to play himself, as well as a big fan of John McEnroe. John McEnroe was his favorite player because he is a firecracker just like his daughter. While still alive, he only wanted the best for his daughter Devi. He constantly reminded her she was unique and beautiful.
Mohan was the reason Devi began to play the harp because he told her she was too special for a guitar. Mohan impacted both Devi and Nalini in the best way possible, and they were grief-stricken when he passed. However, he was always remembered as a warm, funny, and wise man.
Background[]
Mohan died of a heart attack during Devi's concert, before the start of the series. This is what caused Devi to experience psychosomatic weakness which is revealed by Dr Jamie Ryan later in the series.
