... made someone jealous is the fourth episode in Season 3 of the Netflix series, Never Have I Ever. It is also the twenty-fourth episode overall and premiered on August 12, 2022.
Synopsis[]
Kamala invites Manish over for Navratri, much to Pati's annoyance. Devi isn't thrilled about taking Rhyah's son to a house party, but she is in for a surprise.
Plot[]
A few months have passed since Devi and Paxton broke up, and it is now the fall season, and Devi is back to feeling like a loser and is upset about not being able to cling to Paxton’s shoulder. Eventually, she gets over her grief about the breakup and can now smile at Paxton without bursting into tears. However, reality hits when she is told the news that Paxton has a new girlfriend, Phoebe Hayward.
Navaratri has now begun to start, and for some reason, that has equal billing. Trent wants his girlfriend Eleanor and best friend Paxton, to celebrate his eighteenth birthday. Since Devi does not want to see Paxton with his new girlfriend, she tells everyone she is staying home for the Hindu holiday. However, this is an authentic tradition for her family. Primarily for her, Pati, as she calls it, will “stunt” the other old ladies by setting up the best Golu the world has ever seen, or at least Southern California according to Pati.
The party starts at Trent’s, and Ben manages to be condescending to a girl trying to pump beer out of a keg. Though, as he tells Fabiola, he is not condescending. He simply gets annoyed when people do not know how to do things. Paxton’s tall, thin, and blonde girlfriend Pheobe shows up as well. This causes Eleanor to call Devi to get her butt over there. However, she cannot find a window to escape until Kamala invites her new boyfriend over, Manish.
So, she gets dressed in her room out of the sari and into Western party clothes, pops off her Bindi, places it on her mirror, and is about to sneak out the window when her mother catches her. Nalini forces her to get dressed back into her sari, and her punishment is to watch the “aunties’ chew and serve the vadais —a south Indian fried snack that can be served in different forms, but in this case as a savory doughnut.
Meanwhile, Rhyah doesn’t like her son’s friends, saying they abandoned him, and he is sitting at home alone. His name is Des, and she vents to Nalini. So, she allows Devi to go to that party as long as she invites Des. To make an excuse at the party, she tells everyone Des is her cousin before he shows up there. Even though Devi hates the idea, she quickly changes her mind after getting a good look at him and realizing he is attractive looking. After insulting him by assuming he would be a nerd due before she met him, he sees her panic when she spots Paxton kissing Phoebe.
