Never Have I Ever Wiki

... had sex with Paxton Hall-Yoshida is the second episode in Season 1 of the Netflix series, Never Have I Ever.

Synopsis[]

Devi hesitates to tell her friends the truth about her awkward interactions with Paxton. The prospect of an arranged marriage puts Kamala under pressure.

Plot[]

Devi is seen reading After by Anna Todd on her bed, when she gets a knock on the door. She flings the book away and pretends that she is asleep, thinking it was her mom at the door. The door opens to Paxton standing in the doorway. He comes in and tells her that he was there to have sex with her and proceeds to compliment her. Then Devi wakes up, revealing she was just having a dream.

At her therapist's office, Devi talks about her dream. Dr. Ryan tells her that Devi needs to talk about her father, which Devi brushes off saying that she wants to talk about the fact that she and Paxton are probably going to have sex that week. The therapist tells Devi that losing her virginity to someone that she barely knows and doesn’t care about her is a bad idea, but Devi tries and fails to convince her otherwise.

At school, Eleanor along with Fabiola rushes to Devi to apologize to her for not telling her about Eleanor dating Oliver. Devi quickly forgives them, and they start walking to class. On the way, Alex Gomez compliments Fabiola on her overalls and she tells her friends that she asked him out. Eleanor turns to Devi and asks her if she has asked Jonah out yet. Then Devi tells them that she has been talking to someone else, Paxton. She tells them a fake version of what had happened last night saying that he was the one to ask her out, not the other way around. When Devi was telling her friends the story, Fabiola makes eye contact and stares at a girl on the stairs. The girl gives her a flirty smile but before anything else, Devi interrupts and asks Fabiola if she’s paying attention. When Devi strolls off to contour her makeup, her friends look at her in disbelief.

Nalini is in the garage when Kamala walks in wearing a blazer and jeans. She tells Nalini that this is what she will be wearing on the video call with Prashant’s parents. Nalini disapproves and tells her that she should wear something else that will impress his parents. Mohan’s bike then falls on Kamala, and Nalini helps her get up and says that she doesn’t know why she hasn’t thrown the bike out yet. A flashback scene reveals Mohan sitting on the bike with Nalini in the background holding a baby Devi. Nalini tells Mohan that he should have bought a nice car instead of a bike, and Mohan protests saying that they can use the bike for date nights. In the present, Kamala suggests selling the bike, and Nalini considers the idea.

In school, Devi walks up to Paxton at lunch in the Hot Pocket, where all of the popular kids sit, including Trent Harrison. She asks Paxton if they can hang out to have sex later in the week, and Paxton suggests that she should come over to his house after school. Devi can’t come because she has orchestra, so she asks Paxton if they can hang out later this week instead. Paxton reluctantly agrees before going back to his friends.

In orchestra class, the teacher welcomes back Devi and mentions that she has had a rough year since her father died at the spring concert. As Devi starts to play the harp, she gets flashbacks of the night of the concert, and stops playing. She runs out of the school in search of Paxton and tells him that her scheduling conflict cleared up. He tells her to get in his car, and they drive off as Fabiola and Eleanor stand in shock.

Devi is in Paxton’s garage looking around, as he comes in and offers her a drink. When Paxton takes his shirt off, Devi panics, makes a terrible excuse, and leaves. Devi is walking home when she sees her mother trying to sell her dad’s bike to their neighbor. She tells her mom she shouldn’t sell it, and when Nalini doesn’t listen, Devi calls her a b****. Nalini tells a furious Devi to go up to her room.

Kamala is on an awkward video call with Prashant’s parents. Nalini holds up a board prompting her to ask about the weather but when Kamala starts talking about her research program, Nalini steps in and tells his parents that she can cook anything (except meat). Kamala adds that she does eat egg but Nalini brushes it off as a joke, as Prashant’s parents sit in confusion.

Devi and Ben are bickering about his mustache when Devi tells Ben that she is about to get railed.

Nalini is on the phone with somebody and says that they can pick up the bike whenever they want. She hangs up the phone and notices a red thread hanging from the handle. A flashback reveals Nalini lying on a bed, crying, as Mohan comes into the room. He sits down on the bed and tells Nalini that they already have one perfect daughter and that their family is complete. To cheer her up, he takes her on a ride on his bike to Malibu Beach as he tells her to not worry as the bike was blessed at the temple (hence the red thread).

In the present, Devi is riding on a scooter to Paxton’s house and asks him if they can have sex. He agrees, and as they are sitting in the garage, Devi asks if she can use the restroom. Paxton gives her directions, and when Devi yells inside the bathroom, Paxton’s sister, Rebecca, asks her if she’s okay. Devi assures her she’s fine, and Devi helps her pick out a pair of jeans to wear when going to the movies. When Paxton finds Devi talking with his sister, he gets mad and tells her to leave.

The next day at school, Devi tries to talk to Paxton, but he’s clearly still mad at her. Fabiola and Eleanor think that Devi isn’t a virgin anymore and congratulate Devi. Devi goes along with it and lies to her friends. In Facing History, Mr. Shapiro asks Devi a question about the Nazis. When she doesn’t know part of the answer, Ben smugly gets it correct, which leads Devi to say, "I wish the Nazis would kill Ben."
