... had my own troll is the second episode in Season 3 of the Netflix series, Never Have I Ever. It is also the twenty-second episode overall and premiered on August 12, 2022.
Synopsis[]
Anonymous messages about Paxton have Devi paying detective. Aneesa feels neglected by Ben. Pati holds a mixer to find Kamala a "suitable" partner.
Plot[]
Upon finding out about a troll writing to Devi, Paxton tells her not to interact with them and she promises not to. In another corner of the school, Aneesa asks Eleanor, Fabiola and Ben to attend her football team's championship, and while Fabiola says she'll be there, both Eleanor and Ben claim they're too busy.
Meanwhile, Nirmala is yet again giving Kamala the cold shoulder when Nalini comes home. Nalini pleads with Nirmala to make peace with Kamala, because the tension between them is starting to be unbearable.
After a little persuasion from her friends, Devi relents and texts the troll back. They carry on asking the troll questions in the hope of outing her. The troll reveals that they have been best friends with Paxton since grade school, which narrows down the suspects considerably.
So, they use Lady Whistle Boy to go through the database and narrow the list down to four suspects. One is head cheerleader Jenny Smith, then there's TikTok influencer Taylor Yu, which would be a power couple of social media. Next is the hottest person in the school's orchestra, who is Haley Garcia, but they do not seem like the typical match for high school popularity figureheads. The last of the suspects is Zoe Maytag, for whom John McEnroe says no introduction is needed.
While Devi ponders who this could be, Nirmala throws a mixer of all the eligible men from her temple in hopes of finding her a future husband. Meanwhile, the next day, the troll is still texting Devi, and she has had enough. Just as Eleanor tells her they can cross Zoey off the list, the troll texts her back that she is just looking out for her because of losing her father during Debussy. She has had enough heartache for one lifetime. This makes Devi really think, since the troll brought up her father, and this narrows down who it could be even further because it was during the spring musical. The troll is the hottest girl in the band, and Devi confronts her.
They meet under the bleachers. Devi is confrontational at first, but Haley comes out with it. They were best friends, and one day while playing video games last summer, they kissed and had hooked up The latter was incredible. Haley then tells her that the next day Paxton iced her out.
Elsewhere, Aneesa notices Ben will drop everything to place himself in the middle of Devi’s life issues. When he makes it up to Aneesa to be at her soccer game, she scores the winning goal, and he misses it because he was texting Devi. Paxton apologizes to many women for wronging them. Unfortunately, Paxton and Haley are closer than ever, and this makes Devi grow jealous.
Lastly, Nalini makes a new friend, Rhyah and Nirmala throws a makeshift Bachelorette meet and greet so she can find a potential husband for Kamala. Manish finally shows up to take his shot and Kamala introduces him as her boyfriend much to Nirmala's dismay.
Shockingly, Aneesa and Fabiola kiss in the girl’s bathroom.
