Synopsis[]
Bent on exposing who vandalized her car, Devi makes a bold accusation. Fabiola shakes up the robotics club's culture. Pati hides a secret from the family.
Plot[]
Devi's mother informs her that she has to pay for the car repair herself. Devi believes Margot vandalized her car as a hate crime and plans to discuss it with Principal Grubbs. Margot denies the accusation, stating that she was in class during the incident. Principal Grubbs lets Margot go, frustrating Devi. Devi and Margot argue about Ben, surprising Nalini.
Fabiola and Aneesa discuss the lack of female students in the Robotics team, attributing it to toxic masculinity. Devi meets with her college advisor, Professor Warner, who informs her that she won't get a letter of recommendation from Dr. Keyes due to her fainting incident. Professor Warner mentions a college trip to New York, but Devi realizes she can't afford it after paying for her car repair.
Devi visits the repair shop and learns the paint job will cost $1,100. Kamala discovers that Paati is dating someone named Len and supports her decision to move on. Devi shares her disappointment about the car situation with her friends. Eleanor reveals her crush on Ethan, while Devi confronts Ben about not standing up for her against Margot. Devi overhears Ms. Nuni mentioning she was absent, exposing Margot's alibi lie.
Ben talks to Margot about the situation, causing tension between him and Devi. In Spanish class, Devi notices Ethan's handwriting matches the vandal's and confronts him. Ethan explains he thought the car belonged to a teacher who upset him. Principal Grubbs suspends Margot for lying, but Devi defends her innocence, angering the principal. Margot and Ben are upset with Devi. Fabiola speaks with the female students in the science team about changing the Robotics team's culture.
Devi apologizes to Ben for the misunderstanding, but he tells her that Margot doesn't want them to talk anymore. Devi confronts Ethan about the vandalism in front of her friends and demands he cleans his car. Paxton visits the school for an interview. Fabiola addresses the Robotics team's reputation and encourages Michelle to join. Paati reveals to Nalini and Devi that she is dating someone.
Ethan offers to clean Devi's car, and she realizes she has feelings for him, despite Eleanor's crush on him.
